After reading this article. Losing Louisville’s Tom Jurich Brought Big East to an End | College Football News, Opinion and Analysis | Chuck Oliver.Net
I would be all for Tom Jurich, AD at Louisville. (Dont know if he would jump from there to here though)
Here is a snippet: Tom Jurich was keeping the Big East together. His force of personality, passion and belief in the conference held the fractioning league united as long as it did. Tom Jurich persuaded the “Catholic Seven” to stick with the Big East like he persuaded Charlie Strong to spurn Tennessee, like he persuaded Rick Pitino to return to college basketball at the rival school of his former employee Kentucky when everyone said he was a fool to even ask. Jurich persuades companies and individuals to hand him millions of dollars in contributions daily and has done so for two decades. I had Jurich put the full court press on me about the Big East’s attributes and I’m sure he made the same pitch daily to the league’s other athletic directors and presidents, convincing them this could still work, convincing them that despite the departures of Pitt and Syracuse, despite the departure of West Virginia, despite the departure of Notre Dame, despite the departure of Rutgers… the Big East, a Big East, was still viable.
Sounds like the type of guy we need:
Campaigner of large funds: If he does this in Louisville, imagine what he can do in Atlanta
Recruiter and more importantly RETAINER of top Coaching talent: Dude got his FB coach to give the finger to Tennessee. Tha'ts pretty darn good in my book.
