Georgia Tech Football: Stephen Hill Declares For the NFL Draft
#gatech Jr. WR Stephen Hill will enter the NFL draft. Press release coming soon.
In a somewhat surprising move announced just a few minutes ago it was officially announced that Stephen Hill was declaring for the NFL Draft. While everyone knew that he submitted his request to be evaluated by the NFL, many believed that he would come back to school to have one last year in college and he could work on his hands (and hamstrings?) development.
A press release is on the way. Once it's released, we'll post it.

Unbelievable
I believe he was rated as the 9th best WR for this draft class…which is amazing to me. He has some of the physical attributes, but man he got a case of the drops more often than anyone I’ve ever seen.
Got to get the $$$ while you can I guess.
Au contraire.
I read that he got a low evaluation, like next to bottom.

Good for Stephen...
sometimes you have to take advantage, and I’m guessing this is a fairly weak WR class beyond Blackmon from OK State.
That’s no knock on Stephen Hill either. Stephen will probably shine in the Combine drills given his athleticism (current GA HS record holder in the triple jump) and his blocking skills will be valued highly. He has the ability to make highlight reel catches.
I wonder who will slide up the 2-deep at WR. I guess it will be Jeff Greene and Darren Waller.

Fact.
And Michael Floyd,
And Ryan Broyles, and Jeff Fuller, and Juron Criner, and Nick Toon, and Marvin McNutt…
This actually is a very good WR draft.

Don't blame him but . . .
is he still eligible to play for Tech if he should change his mind or has he already signed an agent?

He has a little time to change his mind as long as he doesn't hire an agent
but he told the AJC that there is no way he will change his mind.
He really could've contributed in 2012 at Tech
But money talks. And we have Darren Waller and Jeff Greene. Let’s hope they put on the weight to be dominant at WR and good blockers. Tyler Melton is gone, too.

Come on Stephen, don't leave early when your not ready...
Come back and impove your draft stock. A good year next year can do wonders for you and your development as a WR.
I'm sure he was a better blocker than receiver, but...
The guy has hands of concrete! I wish he had stayed and developed another year, but I don’t see how his leaving makes Tech any worse in the receiving department.
Put on 40-50lbs....
and he could be a pretty devastating TE. But I don’t think a frame that’s naturally around 200lbs could reasonably add on 40-50 more and still preserve a lot of his natural athleticism.

Good luck with that. ;)
Wish him well but don’t see this as the smartest decision in the world. “Passes don’t just drop themselves, you know.”

My thoughts exactly
Love the guy, will support him and wish him the very best, but don’t think this is the most responsible of decisions.

Maybe he doesn't forsee the QB situation getting much better
That’s not to say the guy never dropped anything thrown at him, but he definitely hasn’t had the best QB’s throwing his way and I haven’t seen anything from Washington or Days that says that’s going to change. I personally feel that he would be better served working on his game against college competition, but no one looks out for you better than you, so I’ll wish him well, thank him for his time on the Flats, and hope that he goes high like I do for every other GT player hoping to get drafted in any sport.

Fact.
Could it be a rush to Draft/Sign/Agent UP
Now that there will be labor peace for the next few years?
Does he or the family need the money?
You'd do it for Randolph Scott!
