Chadd Scott Breaks Down Paul Johnson's Recruiting Policy "Real Slowly"
Thought this was a good explanation on GT's recruiting policy and how we expect people to enter a committed relationship.
If you follow college football recruiting at Georgia Tech at all, you are familiar with Paul Johnson's recruiting policy. If you have no clue what I am speaking of, his policy is pretty simple: only commit to Georgia Tech if you are actually committed. No more recruiting trips, no chance of you going to another school, you will sign with Georgia Tech and I’m expecting you to keep your word. Which many fans, especially those of other schools, seem to question. I’ll never understand why so many people (ahem, Bulldog fans) are against this policy but that’s another issue. What I do have a problem with is the NCAA not having an early signing period in football.

Politics of Early Signing Day?
Against:
Blogger-o-sphere, what else is there to talk about in January?
Coaches who want the BIG FLIP from the hated rival?
Players/Helicopter parents who want to Milk it ALL?
ESPhrickiN and Media who want reality TV level Drama?
Tom Luginbill who wants 10 hours of his mug onscreen.
For:
Curmudgeons who think bowing down to 18 year olds is STUPID
CPJ, JUST BECAUSE IT AIN’T RIGHT!
Players who don’t want Nick the Dick pole-axing their dreams.
Punters who want a top flight Engineering education.

This is so simple to me that I am baffled by the continuing attacks on CPJ
If you want multiple offers and to keep your options open as player that is fine. I have no problem with that. But don’t tie up a scholarship offer that could go to another deserving student just because you can’t keep your word.
