27 years ago, January 23, 1984. The "Thrillerdome" is born, during the greatest game in GT history.
January 23, 1984, the Jackets beat #19 UVA in Triple Overtime. I was there, I'll never forget that night!
Then radio color commentator, Brad Nessler, sums it up best:
"Tech had won its first ACC game against Wake Forest by a couple of points and during nearly every game, our play-by-play announcer, Al Ciraldo, was saying, 'Brothers and Sisters, we've got another Thriller brewing'.
"Then we had the Virginia game and that's still the best basketball game I've every been around or broadcast.
"Alexander Memorial Coliseum was too many words to say all the time, and everybody in the place was going crazy. So we came back from a break in the second overtime of that game and I said, 'We're back at the Thrillerdome....'"
As I've related before on FTRS, the next morning, the three players shown above were all in an 8am class, and received a standing ovation, I was there, I'll never forget it!

Thanks for the memories
This would have been nice on the front page rather than the sidebar, but then I am not an editor.
