Phil Smith Will Not Return To Georgia Tech Football
It's been an odd year for Philthy as he had missed three games due to suspensions this year. It's probably time to go separate ways. Rumors say he may be transferring to Florida where he can be eligible to play one more year should he get into a graduate program.

A DWAG fan asked me yesterday
can you imagine Mark Richt with CPJ’s balls?
u(sic)GA would just go out and sign another 4 star guy if they bid farewell to a player . Our guys just have to work harder since CPJ ain’t puttin up with any crap.
Old Skoool.

Just to clarify
The O-linemen we will sign this weekend from Australia is a player of American Football (aka “Gridiron”) and not a player of Australian Rules Football (aka “Footy”). Do some great punters at American universities come out of Footy in Australia? Yes. Do linemen come from it? No.
Here is “”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2CLlkUFC2A&feature=related" >Gridiron" (what our O-line recruit plays)
Here is “”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqymJpIhpPY" >Footy" (what LSU’s punter played)
I met her on the campus, sir, cheering the Brave and Bold.
When ESPN was new
(for those of you not old enough to remember) they couldn’t afford to broadcast popular sports, so they showed a lot of unusual ones.
They showed a lot of Australia rules football. A lot. It was on almost all the time.
I miss that ESPN.
I'll enlighten Bubba...
Funny that in Australia they don’t use the term “Football” for any of the variations of the American game they play, instead they call it…
1) Gridiron – American football
2) Footie – Australian Rules football (which is closer to Rugby)
3) Soccer – National team is called the “Socceroos”

Wonder if this was a little like the "first football game"
One of these days I am going to sit down and figure out just what it was they played that day between Rutgers and Princeton. The rules were mostly like rugby but there were goalies, kicking, flying wedges and sleeper plays.
