Blogpoll Draft Week 4

GT in the ranking! (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

Friends, I would like to apologize about last week's lack of a blogpoll. FTRS has not missed a week in its blogpoll history until last week. Someone new is in charge and logistics is not their forte. New Blogpoll Overlord, again we apologize that our week 3 blogpoll was not prepared at 12:00AM Sunday September 11th...

Here are the thoughts of our voter draft submissions:

Jesse28: Guys, my votes are in. Again, no real surprises or major changes. I only moved FSU down a couple spots because the teams I had immediately below them won. I dropped South Carolina a couple spots because they struggled against Navy. Not a surprise to me, but I don't think they are a top ten team to begin with and a top ten team shouldn't be losing in the fourth quarter. Ohio St got destroyed by the U even with Harris handing them the ball multiple times. That combined with big wins by a number of teams behind them forced me to drop them almost ten spots. Same goes with Miss St, but by a lesser drop. I brought Miami and Clemson into the top 30 and I moved GT up a few spots to 22nd because I believe we are at least a top 25 team. We'll see if that remains to be true after facing UNC.
I personally messed around with the top 5 and dropped a few teams I didn't feel deserved to be ranked. I thought the strongest unit I've seen thus far was Oklahoma's defense. I would not be surprised to see OU and LSU meeting in the BCS title game at this point based purely on their D's. Either way, I think the top 5 are the only votes that matter this early in the season. The rest are just a mixture of middle tier undefeated teams in my book.
Winfield: Undefeated teams, except for FSU and maybe one other, are on the top. I put us at 11th, because yes WE ARE RAINING POINTS DOWN ON THE OPPONENTS and after 3 games you can only ask so much from the team resumes. LSU should be the clear and obvious #1 because of their schedule and how they have handled their games.

Perhaps not the most appropriate place to make this comment but . . .

Did anybody else have the feeling watching the Miami game that for a quarterback to have started as many years as Harris has that he is flat out mediocre?

Murray or Harris, who's worse at killing crucial drives with an INT?

GO!

I loved an EDSBS article last year....

I think it was yearly predictions, and with Miami, they said something along the lines of Jacory needing to be good and showing a lot of good signs…..

But then you never know when they’ll be chugging along merrily, and all of a sudden he’s going to say “FUCK IT, WE’RE GOING LONG” and it just doesn’t end well…..

Last weeks poll

Who voted for us, and more importantly, who voted for Georgie after Boise and USC?

Veni, Vidi, Velcro

Very enlightening. Given who cast their votes for Georgia it cause one to speculate about the reasons. Was it due to being from regions of the country that have little first hand knowledge about Georgia or was it due to some arcane calculation along the lines of, “If this team beats this team and then turns around and loses to this team, and then we beat the team that beat the team . . .then ranking Georgia a little high right now might make our team’s ranking go up”?
