Let's build a database of coaching candidates!
Who do you want to see as the next head coach of the Yellow Jackets? Jeff Schultz of the AJC points towards Jeff Capel of Oklahoma, a hamstrung coach who never got off the ground due to sanctions from a previous coach. Herb Sendek is being thrown around by the Arizona media as a possible candidate. Mark Bradley is eyeballing Anthony Grant from Tuscaloosa. Who do you think we should look at?

Even as a Tiger fan
I want Cremins back in the ACC, especially at GT.
Don't give up, don't ever give up ~ Jim Valvano
Never. Please.
Cremins is happy in Charleston and I hope he stays until he retires.
We need a coach that can bring a renewed enthusiasm to Tech. I also think we need someone with enough name recognition that he doesn’t have to introduce himself to high school coaches and players. I don’t expect us to unseat Duke and UNC every year, but it would be nice if we could regain the magic of those years when Cremins was doing well in Atlanta. But, it can’t be Bobby. If you remember, three of his last four years were losing seasons. We were all happy to have Hewitt take over.
So, who should we hire? I am leaning toward Noodles. I think he would be good head coach and maybe Kenny Anderson would join him as an assistant. This may be just my old brain making me wish for something that can’t really happen, but it would be nice to see a Tech man on the sidelines.
My favorites are
Gregg Marshall – Wichita St.
Mike Turgeon – Texas A&M
Anthony Grant – Alabama
And maybe Mike Anderson (Missouri) or Randy Bennett (St. Mary’s).
PLEASE NOT Capel or Sendek. Or someone who’s never been a head coach.
in case yall arent on twitter

Not all the poll options are mutually exclusive
I want a young and fresh guy who is a good tactician. Hell, I’ll take an old and experienced guy who is a good tactician. We need someone to teach these guys how to play basketball, not just rely on their athletic ability like they did in high school. I think the recruiting will still be successful regardless of who we sign on.
Not Neal.
Good article by Ken Pomeroy on why the RPI is a bad measure of how good teams are. He discusses New Mexico’s team last year, which is where the support for wonderboy Craig Neal is coming from, and mentions that they were 10-1 in games decided by under 5 points, which is an extremely lucky total. This gave them a great RPI but in the tournament they were actually the underdog to 11-seed Washington, despite being a 3-seed. Vegas knew they were lucky, and they lost.
To make a baseball analogy, it’d be like trading for a pitcher who had 20 wins but with a 4.50 ERA. We already had one coach who built a career off of one fortunate season. There’s no reason to get another.
Perhaps you do not understand what the Vegas point spreads mean. They are the number of points, either way, the pros think it will take to balance the betting between the two teams. If the betting gets skewed to one team, they will adjust the spread to correct the balance. The fact that New Mexico was an underdog does not mean the gamblers in Vegas thought they would lose, but that they believed most bettors would play it that way.
I say we go after that dude from Butler
This is one of the reasons why I hate the decision to hire a guy “by the Final Four”. You’re basically removing from consideration all coaches who actually made the tournament this year.
Luckily, I don’t see Butler going far this time around, but we should make a very aggressive move to go after him.
Tried "young and fresh"
last time, so not interested in going there again.
A broad description, but I’d like someone that my first reaction isn’t “Who?”, followed by “From where?”.
I still really like Richmond's Chris Mooney
At 38 he’s pretty young, and he’s got some experience actually balancing academics and athletics, having played four years at Princeton and coached one at Air Force (18-12). Just won the A-10 tournament and took the Spiders to their second straight NCAA tourney after beating Temple in the semifinal. I think he’d be a good fit at Tech.
