Georgia Tech isn't as wonderful a job as it is made out to be in a city that is a pro sports town. The Yellow Jackets may have a hard time finding someone to come for a lower price, which is what they may have to offer after paying millions to buy out Paul Hewitt. I'm not buying the Tubby Smith to Georgia Tech chatter at all. Smith has been quoted in local media reports that he's staying put in Minneapolis. I wouldn't be surprised if Georgia Tech does what Clemson did in hiring Wright State's Brad Brownell: hire a quality head coach who isn't as well-known.
As for Hewitt, he had the St. John's job last year if he wanted it. Now he's out at Georgia Tech. Considering the buyout he's likely to receive, at least he won't have to work.

I disagree
Tech is in the ACC, and Tech is in the fertile recruiting grounds of Atlanta and the state. Did I mention that Tech is in the ACC?
As good as a Cremins and Hewitt were at recruiting, I believe those two factors make the job a lot easier.
I was about to post the exact same thing
Not sure what Katz is basing it on, but Atlanta is a pretty good basketball market at all levels – amateur, college, and pro.
Since '91
GT has put the 7th most ppl in the NBA. The talent is here, we just need a coach to take us to the next level.
