Georgia Tech Football 2011 Home Opener Will Be On A Thursday Night

As reported by Doug Roberson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will host the Western Carolina Catamounts on September 1st, a Thursday night.

Thursday night games bring extra excitement and electricity to Bobby Dodd Stadium. It will be even more needed and appreciated as Western Carolina is an FCS team and those type of matchups can only generate so much energy on their own merit.

2010 was an odd year for the Yellow Jackets as they did not host a Thursday night game on ESPN. Instead they traveled to Blacksburg, VA to face the Hokies. This year the Jackets will host Clemson, Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech at Bobby Dodd Stadium. All of which could be intriguing games for a Thursday night game.
