Considering the VT shooter was foreign born...

and homegrown terrorism isn’t quite the same thing as a lone gunmen, I still apologize if I offended anyone…

I write stuff From the Rumble Seat.

People need to learn to get over things.

It was obviously not meant to be thought of like that. While we all know the tragedy, you got to move on. Basic evolution, get over it or die.

You have your opinion...

I have mine. I welcome you to share this same sentiment over on the VPI fansite if it pains you this much to “not get over it”

Im sorry.

I do agree that it was an absolute atrocity by an idiot and that these things should never be done. But ignoring something and pretending like it didnt happen isn’t going to make it go away.

It just doesn't need to be said...period.

I know you’re a author here Bird, but there’s no positive in keeping the words “homegrown terrorist” in this post. Whether you are a deranged and disenchanted “foreign-born” permanent US resident college student in America who’s decided he’s had enough…or a bunch of North Georgia rednecks interested in “THAT THERE RICIN’ POWDER” it’s homegrown terrorism if it’s Americans killing Americans.

(I would change the title…that’s all)

Didn't offend me.

But it’s a good idea to be sensitive on this.

Looking at this picture, I was thinking to myself...

When was the last time Roddy had an explosion play?

Suddenly, he became aware of the words that had crept out of his mouth. “Oh no,” he thought, “Did anyone hear him?” It was if he was in dream seeing with hindsight those cursed things dribbling out, rolling slow-motion-like out of the corners of his mouth. He wanted to scream that he didn’t mean it the way it sounded.
He decided that the only course of action was to stand up straight, defiant and act with total confidence. “Let others draw their own conclusions,” he thought. But his insides felt like jelly.

Here in Virginia...

…most everyone equates UVA to GT and VT to UGA in terms of the general difficulty getting in and staying in, as well as the makeup of the fan base.

by JacketInHooville on Nov 9, 2011 11:16 AM EST reply actions

I used to live in Nashville...

And the closest comparison I ever found was Vanderbilt (GT) to Tennessee (UGA). Of course, it’s even more accurate if Vandy had a richer football tradition and history of achievement than Tennessee.
