Tech is doing pretty well.
You don't think the O is doing well?
The defense was having some problems on that last SC St drive for sure, but the offense looks fine to me especially with it being the first game of the season.

Against a 1AA team, even a good one, I expect fewer 1-2 yard gains and more 5-7 ones. And more getting away from the D. Remember the last two opening games?

But it was the first quarter, so I’m not overly concerned with anything regarding the offense just yet. The defense however will once again be our major concern during the season.

Hope you had a good conversation with yourself. Overall, your assessment was accurate, except the offense probably won’t have as much of a big play potential as it did last year. On the other hand, however, I see it being more consistent. Defense needs more work but played better as the game went on and Groh could bring the heat a little more.

I agree as I also do not think we will see as many 30+ yard scores. But hey, as long as we are averaging 6.5ypp rushing (5.9ypp total) I think we’ll be okay. Just finished watching the UNC game and I’m going to go ahead and say that I’m not exactly worried about that game unless our defense gets worse between now and then.

They were missing a lot of players last night
But I wasn’t that worried to start with. I don’t really see the defense getting much worse after yesterday (although they need to find a decent nose tackle).
I’ll take 6 yards per play any which way, that’s for sure.
