The offense is off to a slow start. They need to take advantage of these opportunities NC State is giving them if they want to win.

Umm....

Apparently he parties naked in the end zone.

Sooo, what happened yesterday? And by that, I mean what happened with the game, and what happened with the mass of empty seats? I know that’s a normal thing in Bobby Dodd, but damn things were bare.

Also, do you regret this MS Paint cartoon yet?

...

1. Attendance said 48,000. We’ve looked at the history of BDS and Tech fans are only gonna buy around 45,000 seats. The road teams have to buy the rest of the seats. Teams that don’t travel well (NC schools, BC, MD, etc.) don’t sell out BDS. We just don’t have that many fans.

2. I never regret any of the cartoons. If you regret everything you say and do predicting games, you’d be a sad lonely person…

A quick reply re: NC schools traveling

NC State fans have historically traveled really well. The empty seats I saw at BDS were in the corners of the upper deck at the endzone above the student seating. Are those seats typically guest seating or unsold student/Tech fan seats?

I thought our “wedge” near the endzone was quite full, based on the one glimpse I saw of it on TV.

You’re right about the other three ACC schools in NC, though: Wake, Duke and UNC rarely travel. Usually when you see UNC fans at opposing stadiums, it’s bandwagon basketball fans that live in the area.

the corners

of the North deck and upper West deck are for away fans. The Southeast corner is for away fans too.

Average attendance since BDS expanded (2003-present):

NC State: 50,123
UNC: 48,602
Wake: 51,493
Duke: 46,576

I don’t expect much from any fans from any North Carolina school. Duke is basically the benchmark for Tech fans ’cause there may be a few hundred Duke fans alive in the world. Anything plus the Duke attendance is usually away fans or walk ups.
