Today on College Football Live, they discussed the scenario "What if Colorado had not been given the 5th down in the 1990 game against Missouri?".
What followed was a hypothetical discussion that Colorado would have had 2 losses and, therefore, been out of the national championship hunt. Then they gave only a passing remark on Georgia Tech having won the Citrus Bowl over Nebraska, saying instead that Miami would have ended up playing and beating the Jackets. When all the dust settled, who would become the national champions after winning their bowl game and holding the tie breaker by defeating the U in the regular season?
Notre Dame, of course.
I just find it ludicrous the lack of respect they give that Georgia Tech team, who still remains the only undefeated team of the year. Instead, ESPN gives their imaginary AP crown to a 9-3 Notre Dame squad. Spectacular. I would expect nothing less from the network and I know it was a completely superfluous segment, but can we get some love?
