More Data Concerning Dodd in the SEC
This chart shows the average finish of each team from 1945-1963. I also broke it down by the average finish percentile. As you can see, GT was only behind Ole Miss during this Era.
Now, as I tried to explain to some of the Bama fans, Tech's downward trend in the early '60's was generally attributed to QB play.
One Bama fan chose to truncate the years 1945-1955 from the Dodd-SEC Era so I did that. Tech was the 6th best SEC program from 1956-1963 based on average finish. The only teams ahead of Tech were Ole Miss, Auburn, LSU, Bama, and Florida. But as I countered the Bama fans, during the Lothridge years, Tech outperformed Florida and Auburn making Tech the fourth best program from 1961-1963.

Yes, and please note that
Florida and LSU still have losing records against tough opponents like Tech!

Conference reallignment
Tech, Clemson, FSU, maybe Miami to SEC, wishful thinking. As a Dawg Fan It makes since. Move these in- state rivals in -conference. Its a win-win for everybody, and we’d(dawg nation ) get Clemson back on a regular basis : )
