ESPN wins bidding war for the ACC

(yes, we're a little late in publishing this...)

The Triangle Business Journal has reported that ESPN has won the broadcasting rights for ACC football. The new deal, which will solidify the conference through the 2022-2023 football season is reportedly worth about $155 million a year, more than TWICE the amount of revenue currently being brought in on the current contract the league owns.

The SEC mammoth deal was $207 million. While we were never going to see any numbers close to that, the revenue increase in this new contract is still an improvement.

Note: BC Interruption gives a detailed description of the Winners and Losers of the new TV contract.
