Post-Clemson Hewitt Approval: Is this really necessary?
Tigers shoot 55% . Yellow Jackets have won 4 ACC road games since the 2003-2004 Final Four year.
On a positive note, we shot better than them at the free-throw line.
Here's the poll. No matter how you vote, give us your reasons.

first vote was a YES
what crazy fool is voting YES…
I spun around... and there I was, face-to-face with a six-year old kid. Well, I just threw my guns down and walked away. Little bastard shot me in the ass.
oh my God...
I hate clemson so much.

I think the post says it all...
regarding the reasons behind the no vote. " Yellow Jackets have won 4 ACC road games since the 2003-2004 Final Four year." FOUR road games total is crap. Has any other ACC team won that few in these past six seasons?
FSU, Duke, and Maryland out already
The’ve won 4 road games this season. Clemson has won 6 since last season. BC has won 5 since last season. WFU has 6 since last season. UNC has won 7 since last season. UVA has won 5 since two seasons ago. Miami has won 5 since three seasons ago. VT has won 7 since three seasons ago. NC State has 5 since four seasons ago. So we are the worst ACC road team since full expansion.

I voted yes
But then again, I always vote yes for bonds, education buildings, and the annexation of Puerto Rico.

Voted no, but...
here is an article about projected efficiency margins that supports Hewitt. Basically we were really bad last year and probably expected too much from such a young team. If you don’t read Dan Hanner, he does some interesting stuff. The previous post explains the methodolgy in more detail if you are interested, but he makes the argument that top recruits are usually overvalued.

I voted NO

Who is going to be GT's big man next year?
Assuming that Lawal and Favors go pro, what does your front court look like? I was looking at the roster and it looks like the only Center you will have returning is the RS freshman Miller Is that right?
three guys
Kammeon Holsey tore his ACL in preseason. He’ll be back. Brad Sheehan is a RS Senior next year. The jury is still out on Sheehan’s effectiveness in the ACC. And then Daniel Miller will be a RS Freshman next season. So not a lot of experience in the front court but the back court is what wins for Hewitt.

From what I can tell, Bird is thinking of the final four team.
Which would mean we only need a Luke Schenscher quality big. Luke never rebounded at that high a rate either, so maybe one of these three could approximate his output. That team had some strong rebounders at guard in Jack and McHenry, as well as Ish and Moore.
Will next year’s team be as tall? Rice is pretty active on the boards, but I am not sure about the rest.
Doesn't seem like a lot of depth either
Seems like they only have 3 guys to man the 4 and 5 spots. And 2 of them are going to be RS freshman.
Are you guys targeting anyone else in recruiting, or is Jason Morris it for 2010?
Given the haul we had this for this year
I’m betting on Morris being the only one. Last year we only pulled in Shumpert.

No
Gather round, children, and listen to a tale of horrors. A tale of a coach so lazy, so unmotivated, so unfocused.
Seriously, I voted no because Hewitt’s coaching process seems to end at recruiting. I’m fairly certain the man’s philosophy is “if you BELIEVE, you can ACHIEVE!” Once the talent’s in the door, he thinks he has to do nothing but “let them play” and they’ll magically win. FAUK.
Im still amazed by his timeout usage. Last night we used a TO 35 seconds into the game. We only had one timeout left with what like 13:30 left in the game. Where do our timeouts go? I approve of the halftime adjustments he made. Since the only reason they are ahead of us at halftime is the 3 balls, lets leave them open the first 10 or so possessions of the second half and see how they react to that!! The other thing that drives me crazy! Inbounds plays!!! No matter where we are on the court if we are throwing it in we are just praying we still have the ball afterwards while the other 99% of Div 1 schools are pissed if they dont get an easy layout or a 3 on 2 runout
can somebody
please pass this poll onto D-rad
