What about Duke? Should we cheer on the ACC or should we boo the Blue Devils? Either way, fire up some CBS MMOD and watch some more basketball!

I want to set aside my hatred for Duke and root for the ACC, but I have a chance to win a few pools and for that, I need Baylor to pull out the W. Go Bears!

West Virginia over Kentucky was huge for my bracket. Two more wins from Baylor and I think I have this thing wrapped up.

HATE to be such a paintywaist about this
but I am not man enough to pull against Duke. The ACC has gotten so much trash talk from every other major conference I feel like we need to win something just to gain a little respect. I want Duke to win so I can hate them even more than I hate (the list here of evil conferences and teams is too long to mention).

but I don’t think I can pull for Duke no matter what. It’s like watched Georgia play Auburn in football and trying to pull for Auburn. No matter how badly I want Georgia to lose, there’s no way I can ever pull for Auburn. I grew up too close.
Kentucky is breaking my bracket! At least the baseball team ramped it up.

my parents who pulled for Tech except when they played Georgia always contended that when they were growing up Auburn was a more hated rival by the Jackets than Georgia. Judging from some of the old football programs they brought back I could see that it was a bitter rivalry.

Conference Pride?
I don’t feel the same pull as in CFB for ACC teams to do well. A Dook win doesn’t mean that the ACC is ascendant over SEC, Big 10(11), Big East, etc. for bragging rights until the next season. I did want a GT vs. Dook Final in 2004 for bragging rights, and I do feel good when the ACC is highly represented in the 64+1 selection.
If this were a bowl game, or the BCS Championship I’d take the ACC team regardless of other factors, especially if GT had beaten or played well against the other ACC team. CFB bowl season does mean bragging rights, especially in the SEC vs. everybody else. They do seem to come together post regular season even though they’ve participated in their version of "Saturday Bloody Saturday’ against each other all regular season.
Given these factor, and because my Bracket is shot through; I’ll take Butler.
