Ohio State Post-Game: What are your thoughts?

  • I miss the camel hair jacket
  • We continue to be unable to string together multiple good games together
  • Ohio State came out roaring in the 2nd half. We rolled over
  • So long Derrick Favors
  • There was just no consistent chemistry. Not enough unity it seemed.
  • Slight sense of embarrassment after losing to another Big 6 conference this way
  • Honestly, I'm glad the season is over. Way too much drama and strife with Paul Hewitt. Time to forget about it for a while. Unfortunately, it won't happen. More Hewitt talk to come about for sure

Readers' thoughts comments and suggestions are welcome.

We played like shit, and the refs were terrible. Usually not a good combo

heads up

I think diebler’s still standing by himself behind the 3 point line. Does somebody want to guard him?…anybody?…
guess not

I went to the movies rather than watch the game

Family time seemed more important and in retrospect it was definitely the right decision. Ironically, I went to see “The Fan” a great independent film by the guy who wrote “The Wrestler.” It was about someone who is overly invested in sports.
So here is where I am. I predicted Tech would lose this one but was hoping for an upset. If Tech’s good players (Favors et. all) come back next year I will feel optimistic. If not then the dump Hewitt crowd may be right. We can’t afford to keep getting good players, getting them to the point where they have almost completed their development and then seeing them leave for the NBA before they deliver the goods for the Institution.

Later D.Favors

Dont become another javarris chritendon

We need the young guards to step their games up big time over the summer if
GTech is gonna do anything next season

I think Tech will be good next season

we won’t force the issue at low post and it’ll allow young, green forwards to develop rather than rushing them into action. Our guards will be the best in the ACC next year with Vasquez, Ish Smith, and Scheyer leaving their programs.

I spun around... and there I was, face-to-face with a six-year old kid. Well, I just threw my guns down and walked away. Little bastard shot me in the ass.

Mark Bradley Article

here

Judge these teams 1-10 and there’s no comparison. Brad Sheehan, Tech’s 10th man, was pressed into service Sunday and contributed a three-point play. Ohio State deployed only seven men, and its two reserves worked a total of 13 minutes. (Brian Oliver, Tech’s eighth man, played 16.) But college basketball isn’t a draft lottery, and it isn’t a beauty contest. It’s a matter of what coach can take talent and mold it into a team.

I'm asking because i really don't know

But who do we have to man the post next year?

by shakenbake11 on Mar 21, 2010 7:01 PM EDT reply actions

Kammeon Holsey and Sheehan...

those are only definites…

Well that should be interesting

I think between Shumpert, Udofia, and Glenn Rice Jr they have 3 guys who are capable of being very good COLLEGE BASKETBALL players that will be here at least 2 more years if somehow not 3. If Holsey provides any sort of post presence along the way that will only help us out.

2-14 next year.

We could only muster 7 wins with favors and lawal, we aren’t winning more than 2 next year.

nah our team will be better

Those shooters will only improve. We should be a much more team to watch as our guards grow and mature.

Feel like Rodney Dangerfield?

Online Headlines:

“Cornell shoots past Wisconsin”
“Xavier outlasts Pitt”
“’Cuse hammers ’Zags”

vs.

“Turner rebounds big for No. 2 Ohio State”

We don’t even get mentioned as the loser.

I’ve noticed this for years in subtle ways. We are always “lessened” by the press. Even when we beat #4 VT in CFB, it is all about VT on ESPN. We thrash Dook in ATL and it is still all about “Blue Devils potential”.

Tell me I’m not alone in feeling this way?

FYI...

GT dropped a 10 point decision to Arkansas-Little Rock in women’s tourney… sad day for Tech hoops.

Wow I’m glad I don’t care about women’s sports at all… or else I’d be REALLY depressed

Despite our foul trouble and t/o’s I think if we could have defended the three (meaning Deibler) better (at all) we could have pulled this game out. He accounted for 12 points via (wide open) 3’s in the second half.

Hewitt to St. Johns?

Is there anything we can do to make this happen?

by TangoHotelWhiskeyGolf on Mar 22, 2010 2:13 PM EDT reply actions

Talk them into paying for his buyout

Or as much of it as possible because if they were willing to pay for even half of it I would have to think that would be worth it on our end.

Frankly though, after our ACC tourney run and us making it to the second round in the NCAA’s, I can’t really imagine D-Rad giving him the boot. There are just too many factors going against the AA right now with this situation; the buyout, the AA debt, Gailey’s buyout, CPJ’s contract, Groh’s contract, etc.

I will say this though, Hewitt better get more than the one commit he currently has for next year. I was livid that we only got Shumpert last year. With all the one and dones I know it’s not a damn scholarship issue and after pulling in the class he did for this year, he has absolutely no excuse to not do similar every season.

Coach PAUL HEWITT MUST GO......................................

Can someone please tell me how Ga Tech has to 1st round pics(Favors will be a top 5) big men but the offense does not run threw them on every play. Gani Lawal and Favors should touch the ball on every play down low. I will agree that most of the blame is on Ga Tech’s guards… There were times that Lawal and Favors would flash to the ball wide open but Shumpbert would just look at them like they were strangers………as a life long fan i find this simply to horrible to watch. Tech needs a PG who can run the team,,,,,I have always been a Hewitt fan but this team should have one more than 7 games in a down year for the ACC. The minute that the guards did not deliver the ball down low….Coach Hewitt should HAVE TAKEN THEIR ASS OUT OF THE GAME…i guarantee that would have got the teams attention. I do not like comparing coaches but if you watch Roy Williams and how he coaches his guys….he will sub out all 5 starters to get his point across. Finally lets talk about the DUMBASS turnovers this team made and the stupid fouls…This team could have made it to the Final Four if they would have used Lawal and Favors….Lets talk about recruiting….Tech would be able to compete ever year with just players in the Atlanta area but too many go elsewhere….FIRE HEWITT TODAY!…….YELLOW JACKET FANS …AM I WRONG… I woulf like to read your opinions.
