Should the BCS break away from the NCAA?
BCS Evolution brings up some interesting points and it's something to consider. Why do we adhere ourselves to NCAA standards when they don't do anything to reward the teams in the end? Granted, there are counter-agruments to this as well.
Thoughts?

it's sorta like
disbanding the IRS…someone has to collect taxes. Yes, if they simplified the tax code, there’d be a more streamlined IRS but there still needs to be some regulatory agency to “enforce” some semblance of fairness.

Isnt that already the case?
Considering the NCAA doesn’t force those involved with the BCS to treat all D-I teams equally and they have no teeth when it comes to enforcing rules, I was already under the impression that the BCS was divorced from the NCAA.

Whole is definitely larger than the sum of its parts. Plus you’d be leaving behind solid basketball programs like Nova, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Butler, Xavier, etc.

I agree
unless the BCS wants to take on the responsibility of operating ALL SPORTS, then this idea is pretty dumb. Abandoning all of your programs because football doesn’t have a playoff would be the greatest shamockery-bamboozlery-tomfoolery ever.
