Official georgie vs. Joltin Jackets Open Thread

Georgie sucks.  We all know it.  Game at 7pm ET.  TV: CSS.  Radio: WREK Atlanta.  Now just a few reminders of how much Georgie sucks at everything.  Consider it a mini-hate week.

not looking good for the doggies...

I spun around... and there I was, face-to-face with a six-year old kid. Well, I just threw my guns down and walked away. Little bastard shot me in the ass.

I can hear that noise on the radio!

Well, the radio via Internet. You know what I mean. But I’m still listening to the game.

I'm glad that you can settle old scores

for THE rivalry.

Congratulations on tonight's victory

It was a hard-fought game, and the better team won, although I was proud of the Diamond Dogs for the way they hung tough against a quality opponent on the road. True to the spirit of the rivalry, it was a good game.

Good luck the rest of the way.

There are no moral victories

However, it certainly looked like the Yellow Jackets would win in a rout two innings into the contest. Naturally, I was disappointed to see the Bulldogs lose after they came back and took the lead on the road against a top five team, but the outcome was expected and, hopefully, this will mark a turning point for a young Georgia team that has gotten run out of the building in previous outings away from Athens.

Once again, though, good game, and good luck for the remainder of Georgia Tech’s season.

thanks for the classy jesture

Oh wait…it wasn’t classy at all… a ruse, a deception…

This is why I would like to cut athletic ties with georgie. Screw the history, the revenue, and the rivalry. I think it brings out the worst in the fans. The games may be classics but the interaction in the stands and on the interwebs is anything but. I can’t stand anyone wearing red on gamedays just because I know I’m gonna get an earful win or lose. It’s like all georgie fans have a predisposition to create discomfort and start fights just because there’s a sporting event going on. I can easily see where the phrase “To Hell with Georgia” came from. georgie fans just incite the worst in Tech fans.

I won’t lie though. Tech fans are usually huge assholes at games, too. So I guess it’s only natural that georgie fans hate Tech fans as well. Academic elitism versus the pack mentality. Either way, I just give my georgie tickets away. It’s the one Tech every year that is not worth traveling to for any reason whatsoever.

His linking to this post means you're giving up tickets?

I’ll take them.

No, I already give 'em up

I just give ‘em to buddies. It’s a pain in the ass to drive to ATL for games already and it’s not worth being harassed by the unwashed hordes when they come to ATL. So I just give the tickets to my friends every other season. I’d rather enjoy civil discourse with rival fans like Clemson/VT than endure the berating, harassment, and inevitable confrontations with uga douches. Some people enjoy the hostile atmosphere. I just want to tailgate, have a good time, and watch football.

Peanut Butter Dawg would've been sufficient.

We don’t really need to inspire paragraphs like the final one in this post http://www.dawgsports.com/2010/3/16/1376749/diamond-dogs-drop-close-contest-in five or six times a year.

meh

It’s called being a bitter b*tch loser. When they beat us they act like it’s no ig deal, when they lose they bust out every article and try to cherry pick comments to fit their argument. I simply ignore the ignorant peons.
