I hate the way this season has looked.

It’s all an illusion.

Maybe we all gave our hopes up for the team this year because how how last year ended. aka last year absolutely sucked, now we’re average which is improvement but we perceive much greater things.

The college football season is so fragile. It's like a glass ball being pushed around from stadium to stadium by a rhinoceros.

don't be such a Shroti

We’re still doing fine. No one has won at Duke this year. No Tech coach has won that many at Duke. We need to steal one from Clemson and maybe Maryland and we’re still money in the bank.

I guess the atmosphere that I've tried to create here is that I'm a friend first and a boss second, and probably an entertainer third.

Bird, I predict the flip floppers are back amongst the "haters" this week

I still have plenty of hope for this team winning some big games and maybe making some “noise.”

However, I believe this kind of season is a high water mark for CPH. Remember our best finish was only 9-7 in conference play. As I wrote in the comments of my fanpost about CPH’s average efficiency ranking, this team is a classic CPH team (same strengths and weaknesses as all CPH teams, but better than his average in each category). If you don’t like this team, you won’t like any CPH teams.

Forget the Duke game

the refs took Lawal out of the game right after tip off. They were calling it tight because that is what benefits a shallow Duke team…we can still beat them on a neutral court.

Potential but...

This team shows potential for a run in March as long as the kids (Favors, Oliver, Rice Jr.) continue to develop as they have so far.
But the huge concern is the lack of Guard play both from a scoring and assist standpoint.
Last night we only got 3 pts from 59 minutes of court time from Shumpert, Udofia, and Miller combined. Even more troubling is the lack of assists from Udofia and Miller – can’t score, can’t feed the post – Uuuuuuugggggly.

Those are good points

there was a lot of driving to the rim, but little ability to finish or make the open pass. Concerns for usre

Guys

comon think for a second. Duke is now what 16-0 at home this season? Tech hasnt won there since 04. Did anyone really expect us to win that game? Duke just got embarassed by its worst defensive effort under coach K. they came out with something to prove and they proved it. Duke will ALWAYS get calls like that at home. The refs will never not give Duke a slight advantage even tho I think they took it a little far this game.

Now as far as our team played….. it was ugly. throwing balls away left and right. The reason our guards didnt score wasnt because they were taking bad shots. Shump couldnt throw it in the ocean last night he was take good looks and just hitting the back rim almost everytime. Rice looked really good last night playing his heart out. I really didnt like the kid the first time I saw tech play but hes really growing on me. Oliver was under the basket battling all night. Shum guarded singler pretty well until late. But singler was hitting shots that most ppl dont hit with a hand in their face like that. and shump didnt let him post him up.
Did anyone hear the announcers last night when they were like what is going on? Duke hasnt even attempted a shot off their last 2 inbounds plays?
That says alot about the defensive effort that the team put in even without Gani and favors in their to save them if some1 got loose.

Now if you voted no in the poll the only reason I could see why is because of the offensive end. Our players just dont know how to pass/run an offense. Our screen and roll at the top will hardly ever work because the guards are running away from the cutting bigman so Hewitt HOW THE HELL ARE THEY GONNA PASS THEM THE BALL. they invent a new backwards pass or something?

Ok WrechedinPA I got a quick comment on your Udofia and Miller assists tid bit. Favors and Lawal not on court. Who are they going to pass it to for the other person to score? Sheehan? I mean the foul trouble forced the team to try and find a primary scorer. Peacock looked like he was gonna have the game of his life through the first 8 mins. Then he literally disappeared for the rest of the game. Sorry this post has gotten so long I rant on for a couple more paragraphs but I think you guys get the picture.

This poll spans Hewitt's career. Not just this season.

I doubt anyone is pulling their hair out because we lost at Duke.

This is exactly how we beat Wake Forest

We made all of our shots while they got themselves into foul trouble. I abstained from voting last week and I’ll do so again this week.
