Big Eleven getting bigger

the Big Eleven committee or whatever its called that runs the conference is trying to convince Texas.. i say again Texas to join em.... from sportscenter it sounded like it might go through..

"
Oh! If I had a daughter, sir, I'd dress her in White and Gold,
And put her on the campus to cheer the brave and bold.
But if I had a son, sir, I'll tell you what he'd do--
He would yell, 'To hell with Georgia!' like his daddy used to do."

sounds like it'll never go through

Texas fans love rivalries with TAMU, OU, TTU, Nebraska. No way they could continue traditional series play and move out. It’d be a crazy power move by the Big 10 though. Talk about domino effect.

I spun around... and there I was, face-to-face with a six-year old kid. Well, I just threw my guns down and walked away. Little bastard shot me in the ass.

Pac 12

There was some commentary about adding 2 teams to the Pac 10 to create Pac 12. Reasonably suggestions were Boise St., Utah, Fresno State. But then someone said Colorado. Why would a school leave one power conference for another? Same thing with Texas why would they ever leave the Big 12 and the OU rivarly which has to make billions (OK maybe 10s of millions) for them in revenue.

I think

the big thing is money. Big 10 MAKES SO MUCH MORE MONEY than all the other conferences because of TV deal (second to SEC). They have massive fan bases like the SEC and it just generate ass tons of revenue. In CFB, the Big 10 and SEC are on a plateau. Then, cut that plateau in half and you have the Big 12, Pac 10, and ACC. Then, cut that plateau in half and you have the Big East. Then, cut again and you have the other conferences. It’s amazing how little parity there is from conference to conference.

So Texas jumping to the Big 10 means they’re not a big fish protecting a bunch of little fish. They’re a big fish with other big fish eating all the little fish.

I spun around... and there I was, face-to-face with a six-year old kid. Well, I just threw my guns down and walked away. Little bastard shot me in the ass.
