SB Nation Atlanta Editor's Pick
Who do you take? Jaybo vs. Tevin Washington
Jaybo has rushed for 444 yards and 16 touchdowns and passed for 1102 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Eagles have won 9 games in 2010 (the most since 2004) and have easily surpassed Brian VanGorder and Chris Hatcher's best seasons.
My question for you all is simple. We know what happened with Tevin. Would you rather have had Jaybo's game experience when Nesbitt went down or do you think Tevin performed better than Jaybo would have?

It's a toss-up
Tevin is probably a little more athletic than Jaybo, but Jaybo was better at running the option. I picked Jaybo just to tie it up because I think it’s a 50/50 proposition.
Jaybo certainly has the support in Statesboro.
With Monken a direct link to CPJ and Erk Russell, these two have the town pretty much wrapped up. GSU’s losses have all (?) come in games where QBJS has been injured.

If Tevin does some accuracy drills...
and PJ opens up the passing game (which I think he will now that he’s got a guy with an arm and experience receivers), watch out. We could be back to 9 wins next year.
Paul Johnson: not giving a crap about what you have to say since 1987.
I don't think
a resurgence in the football team will be the result of the passing game. The defense controls the destiny of this team, and we won’t “open up” the passing game any more than the 2010 season. Also, Nesbitt probably has a stronger arm than Tevin, his receivers this year were more experienced, and if he didn’t do any accuracy drills, I don’t see Tevin/David Sims doing them.
I appreciate Jabo but
against certain athletes he seemed both slow and fragile. He does not seem as quick with the option as Tevin and surprisingly, to me at least, he does not seem to run inside as well as Tevin.
I think with time Tevin could develop into a very good passer.

Tevin is clearly a shiftier runner
and once the season was effectively over, getting Tevin experience was important since he’s likely to be our qb for the next two years.

Comparable Passers
I think they’re comparable passers (effective but not great). I definitely agree that Tevin is better with the ball in his hands (he’s just a better athlete), but I’d give Jaybo the nod when it comes to effective distribution of the ball and execution of the option offense.
wow
In an effort to find highlights, I found this. You realize how much slower I-AA defenders are when you see how slow the rocket sweep and midline look.
I write stuff From the Rumble Seat.
exactly
fun football to watch but slow compared to Division I. I think Jabo fits better at GSU due to the slower game.

unfortuantly
i voted for Jaybo but i want to change my vote to Tevin… If u remember if it wasnt for C.Taylor forcing the game winning fumble, we would have lost to fsu cause of Shaw… plus if Shaw didnt come in to replace QBJN against georgie last year, who knows what would have happened in that game
This is my Family Tradition
