Georgia Tech, Bowling, Independence Bowl vs. Air Force

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are looking to extend their bowl streak by playing the Air Force Academy in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Falcons are members of the Mountain West Conference and went 8-4 on the season and also took the Commander-In-Chief Trophy away from the Nay Midshipmen. It will be a very interesting matchup for the Jackets as both teams run an option-based offense. The game will be played on December 27th at 5pm on ESPN2. This is the first time the Jackets will play in the Independence Bowl and the fourth time they will be facing Air Force.

Edit 6:30 PM EST: As this will be the 14th consecutive bowl game for the Jackets, the GTAA is offering tickets for $14 for the first 5,000 fans. Click here for more information.

Desepite the zip code

im looking forward to the match up. I think it will be a fun game (assuming we cure the turnoveritis).

Nice matchup but...

By the logic of all those CPJ haters out there, neither team will win, because each team has those three weeks or so to “figure out” the other’s offense. Right?

Truth

We may have trouble getting done by September, if that’s the case. I can see it now….

“Well, we’ve been playing this game four months now, and are in 4-digits worth of overtimes. After 2541 OTs, this game is tied 3-3. We’ll be back after a word from our sponsors.”
