In 2009, the average margin of victory for a conference game was 13 points. Twelve conference games were decided by a field goal or less and 21 conference games were decided by a single possession.

The 2010 season has really kinda wet the bed for me. We've seen some nasty blowouts (4 five possession games). Only 4 games have been decided by field goals. And the 15 points per game margin of victory follows a negative trend in competitiveness since 2008. In fact, 7 of the 10 weeks of conference play have averaged double digit margins of victory. It's a sad day for ACC football fans looking to use conference parity as a point of pride.
