Final Week 7 BlogPoll

Just not a lot of controversy. I feel like the preseason and final polls are really the only polls that get people riled up. Otherwise, these midseason polls are just for tv networks to hype up games and to artificially excite fickle fanbases.

Here is a fun game

If the five SEC teams mentioned in this poll were to play in a round robin double elimination playoff with each other how do you think they would finish?

Surprisingly, when I put this into my computer I found that I had to run the program several times because favored teams would lose two games on a fluke play or over time loss. But after repeating he test hundreds of times here would be the predicted order of finish: South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Auburn.

Yes, I made the whole thing up.

I'd say

Alabama would win a tournament just due to coaching. LSU would be runner up. Auburn next. Arkansas. Last would USC.

L.S.U. is a very lucky team and sometimes that is all it takes. Auburn is roughly the equivalent of Clemson but with confidence. Arkansas is roughly the equivalent of South Carolina but without the confidence. South Carolina has fewer horses than Alabama but they are hungrier.

Here is another fun game

Of the top five teams in the poll who do you think is rated too high and who do you think is rated too low?

I think Oregon is about one notch too high and Nebraska is about one notch too low.

Nebraska can only go so high

don’t forget they’ve got a Frosh QB.

Everytime I watch UNL

I wonder “really? How in the world are they where they should be?”

I am curious to see what happens with Oregon and where their usual one WTF loss comes from.

back when I coached

a women’s flag football team :-) we had a frosh quarterback and it made no difference.

You’re right of course.

The best athletes in intramurals are always the freshmen

they haven’t consumed copious amounts of beer yet…
