Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Post Game: Improvements & Girl Fight!
Here's a quick rundown of my thoughts on Georgia Tech vs. Virginia. What were some of the biggest aspects that you noticed?
- Solid performance all around by the Jackets. I said late last week that there needed to be no doubts left on the field and I think the team flushed a lot of them out.
- I thought our defense played better. They had emotion and at seemed to thwart the Cavaliers on 3rd down much more effectively. Tomorrow we'll go into a breakdown of our 3rd down defense through this game. However, our defensive backs still struggled with defending the pass in the 2nd half. Too many receivers were able to adjust to the ball while our defense flailed around and couldn't adjust themselves.
- Anthony Allen finally found the endzone for the first time this season. And for the second time. And for the third time.Congrats AA. Please don't lose it again.
- Scott Blair is now proud owner of best field goal percentage in Georgia Tech history. Did anybody wonder if his leg is getting tired? It was brought up by someone who noticed that every kickoff had less distance than the previous one. Replaying the game will reveal that for sure.
- Joshua Nesbitt and Anthony Allen are now ranked #1 and #2 in the ACC for rushing. A quarterback has never finished the season as the ACC's leading rusher.
- 2 more wins and we are bowl eligible.
Here was an exciting video from the row behind me.
Please vote in the confidence poll.

Not shopped
That actually happened. Only photos could capture the true hilarity, though.
Because my years of marching band have made me an authority on football.

I wasn’t suggesting that photo was photoshopped. Just saying that you couldn’t have doctored up a cooler photo.

There's another photo
that shows the initial contact that I like even better.

Several Fails
1, Drunk women at CFB games. Leads to puking at Doug Clark and the Hot Nuts band party later in the evening.
2. Did I see a guy with a lit Coffin Nail in BDS@HGF? Our section was very enthusiastic, un-drunk, and only a few rows back of this confrontation (that I did not see thankfully). Step out onto Techwood post game and the Cigs light up like a Hookah Parlor.
3 Video Camera in the stadium? I thought D Rad might swoop down on you with the UVA mascot thingy and pummel you senseless for motion picture equipment in hand.
4. Booze?? How’d she (or her date) get it in?? In my day, we just waltzed through the Student Section gate with a PITCHER of Evan Williams + Coke behind our back and a snickering “guard” at the turnstile. Now the liquor nazis wanted to search my 9th grader (I guess for mule-ing my liquor). I did find a small bottle of Jack Black in a seat vacated by a student at half time (unfortunately it had served its purpose before I got to it).
Never the less, Section 128 – real fans, families, no problems, fans who understand the game and rules, lots of toddlers getting their first taste of God’s favorite sport, and enough guys with the real time radio to fill us in on Wes Durham AND Bama @ Cocks.
