Clarence Moore quotes about Tech hoops

"I’ve seen a few games this season, and I don’t see a leader out there...To me, it looks like guys are trying to find themselves...You have to have a vocal leader and someone who is willing to get on guys and know that he’s going to catch it at some point as well...I would love to say that I was that guy and maybe some people would have said it."

Perhaps but . . .

You have to respect someone’s opinion who clearly knows what it is like to be on the court but on the other hand I have watched teams go deep into March Madness, teams which did not have a clear vocal leader on the court as is being described. Some times the five guys on the court acted as a cohesive team and left the vocal leading to the coach. My question would be if we assume that Tech needs the kind of on-court leader that Moore describes which senior would he suggest? If there is not a senior then which player has the length of experience to be accepted in such a role by the other players?

leaders of the past few years

Mario West? Lewis Clinch? We haven’t really had any successful “vocal leaders” since apparently the Final Four. I think this team is succeeding because everyone is willing to share the rock. I think we’ve had 6 different guys score 20 points now.

I guess the atmosphere that I've tried to create here is that I'm a friend first and a boss second, and probably an entertainer third.

My first thought is DeAndre Bell

as the season wears on I bet he steps up…this is his last hurrah

Bell also missed a year

for very different reasons but hopefully he also gained some valuable perspective
