Super Bowl teams include 3 Tech alum

At least one Tech alum will win a Super Bowl ring in 2 weeks. The Colts feature Philip Wheeler starting at OLB while Anthony Hargrove is in the rotation on DL for the Saints and Chris Reis plays on the Black and Gold's special teams. The last Tech players to win a ring were Mike Matthews, James Butler, and Gerris Wilkinson of the XLII champion Giants. The Colts feature 4 ACC veterans as opposed to the Saints featuring 7.

Any rooting interests out there? Anyone have thoughts on the Saints-Vikings or Jets-Colts games?

I was in Ohio around Drew Brees' peak at Purdue

and have always been a fan of his. Even though it is the Saints…

The college football season is so fragile. It's like a glass ball being pushed around from stadium to stadium by a rhinoceros.

I can't handle the Saints winning a SB before the Falcons

I saw Drew Brees lose at Wisconsin to Ron Dayne’s Badgers. Brees set a ncaa record for most pass attempts and most completions. Something like 52/83. All for about 7 yeards. A very frustrating game to say the least.

Its hard pressed to hate Drew Brees, but I can’t cheer for the Saints as a Falcons fan

Nice work, Bird

I build on this post and break down all 11 players from ACC schools on Super Bowl rosters.

Ah...

I accidentally put Tom Santi (UVA) as a Colts active roster guy.

I guess the atmosphere that I've tried to create here is that I'm a friend first and a boss second, and probably an entertainer third.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
