Around SBN: Stan Van Gundy Fired As Head Coach Of The Magic

Clemson Open Thread

Since I've worked in South Carolina, Georgia Tech has gone 3-0 in football against the Tigers including an ACC title game and Tech hoops upset the Tigers in last season's ACC Tournament. The only game of meaning we've lost since I moved here in December 2007 was an ACCT loss in baseball a couple years back. I'd really enjoy a hoops win tonight. Do it for the children, do it for the GT fans back home, and do it for the GT fans stuck in South Carolina. Go Tech!

At work with no TV.

Let me know how PH is coaching them up!

Who has the best gametracker?

espn appears to be the fastest, but doesn’t have as much info. Any recommendations?

what about ESPN360?

They block everything...except the cbs videos during the ncaa tournament

Hopefully they won’t figure that out this year since we will hopefully be back in

No Game for Me Tonight: Work :(

Predictions: Who’s putting up the most points tonight for Tech? Will Shumpert put up 30+ again?

I’m saying Gani is looking to have a great game.

So I ran some numbers today.

Would people be surprised if they showed Gani playing at lower numbers than last year?

I’m not surprised. Overall, I think he is having a better season, though. He actually has other people around him to share the ball with. Last year, he had to put up 25+ points in a game in order for us to even have a chance.

indeed

Zach Peacock on the other hand is having his best year yet.

Difference in the Game So Far

Post play by our two big guys. They are dominating! Favors did not get into foul trouble early like he has in the past couple of games. He has been getting 2 fouls early and had to sit awhile. This might be why we haven’t seen impressive numbers from him lately. But tonight he is putting up some digits!

Question playing both bigs at the same time

Seems when either has room to operate down low they are more effective. Additionally having Peacock in the game draws his defender away from the basket making it harder to double team our bigs.

Wish CPH had noticed.

came for...the best chance to be smiling saturday night

best advantage…doesn’t have to face CPJ’s offense
knows tech well from being in the acc so long
not worried about it not being his show anymore. CPJ’s success shows he knows how to run a team

Some missed shots early

and some messy turnovers, but, otherwise, the play has been solid. If they can play like this every game we’ll be fine.
