Bird's Top Ten Players in the Country

F the Heisman (with all due respects to former GT Coach Heisman) but the Heisman is garbage now. Let's talk about the "Birdman" or Truly Best Player in the Country. Not the best player on the best team. Not the most likely to be the 2010 NFL First Overall Pick. This is the best college player of 2009. So far in 2009, here are the top ten best players in no particular order:

10. Tony Pike (Cincy) - Undefeated senior season thus far. 4:1 TD:INT ratio. Led the Bearcats to the BCS once already.
9. Colt McCoy (UT-A) - The leader in the Heisman race but not necessarily the Birdman.
8. Todd Reesing (KU) - Every list deserves a little QB on it that gets no respect. A Colt Brennan, a Chase Daniel, a Joe Hamilton, etc..
7. Jimmy Clausen (ND) - How can you argue with 9 TD tosses and 0 interceptions?
6. Case Keenum (Houston) - Only Clausen and Ryan Mallett (AR) having better passer ratings as 2-3 game starters in CFB this season.
5. Jahvid Best (CAL) - 3rd in the nation in rushing, 1st in rushing TD's. He could start on any team in the country.
4. Rahim Moore (UCLA) - Nation leading 5 interceptions. Conference leading 9 pass break ups. Can you spell "B-A-L-L-H-A-W-K"?
3. Derrick Morgan (GT) - Second in BCS conferences with 5 sacks. Leads ACC in sacks. Constant double and triple teams. Will continue to improve as season progresses.
2. Tim Tebow (UF) - Dane's favorite player, son of God, etc. Can't really leave him off the list.
1. Brian Hendricks (WY) - A guy that's gotten little cred but has made all of his teams tackles at 13 per game against Colorado, Texas, and I-AA Weber State. Only a sophomore.

Let me know your thoughts and who else deserves a chance at the Birdman.
