PeeWee Football Drill

I started assistant coaching a JV football team this past Monday. So far, the assistant coaching roles aren't really defined except for our head coach. I got the gig 'cause the head coach is in charge of my plant's rail system, storerooms, and warehouses. He needed help and I said I'd help.
The kids range from 6th to 9th grade while our opponents will mostly be 9th-10th graders. The kids are pretty good at listening and generally respectful despite their ages' notoriety for being SOB's.
The drill diagrammed was a drill I came up with to work on cutoff and pursuit angles for defenders and tossing a sweep or receiving a toss for offensive skill position players. It keeps the kids moving and utilizes a lot of kids at once.
The key is making sure the pitch is delivered and received, something that may be taken for granted by fans of the larger version of the game. The other key is making sure the defenders are intercepting the ball carrier before he streaks past their respective cones. The play's backside linebacker has a helluva long run so he will get a nice run in.
My general philosophy is to not let kids sit around idling. There's always movement or they're always waiting to get into a drill. There's some watching and learning but we try to let the drills enforce the fundamentals and generate habits.
