Close game in the O bowl
Look for this game to be very close and down to the wire. Iowa is a resilient team that can score on big plays, and of course our defense isn't exactly the cream of the crop. I haven't looked at the matchups yet, a full synopsis will be forthcoming, but I think we control the ballgame at the end just like against Clemson and put the game out of reach with a late touchdown. Word is Ricky Stanzi will be back for this game but both our O and D lines wll get some much needed rest and recovery so that evens out.

When you do you more complete ananlysis
look very closely at the Iowa defense. Iowa won 13 in a row before our QB got hurt. You know how that works, saw the GA game. If he plays all our games, this game isn’t happening.

I don't think
Iowa would’ve jumped Texas or Bama.
This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedevere. Explain again how sheep's bladders may be employed to prevent earthquakes.
I don't think SMA is suggesting that Iowa jumps Texas or Bama,
but rather that Stanzi may have lead Iowa to a win in Columbus and Iowa would be headed to Pasadena on Jan 1. Of course, if Stanzi stayed healthy and Iowa lost only one game, I’d imagine this may have been the result, as well. If the BCS truly did conspire to screw the mid-majors, then the OB had no option but to take the Hawkeyes, or risk bringing Cincinnati to Miami.
I’m excited. I think a close game favors Iowa, while a blowout likely means that GT ran over the Hawkeyes. If the Hawkeyes can find a way to keep GT from scoring more than 24, then I think Iowa takes it. If the Jackets get to 30, I fear that Iowa does not have enough offense to keep up. Homer pick: 27-24 Hawks.

It has been three years since Iowa lost by more than 7 points
so that is asking a lot of GT to blow us out.

Not necessarily
9 Consecutive games a Paul Johnson-coached team has won a game decided by five points or less
We would have played in Pasadena one way or another.
