Winston-Salem State Primer

We're playing the Winston-Salem State Rams at 1:00 PM tomorrow. No TV but it'll be on 790 the Zone and 106.7 FM. The Rams are an abysmal 2-7 and are so bad that they will hurt our RPI even if we win by a 1,000. The Rams are 0-8 all time against ACC foes and were beaten by a combined 174-107 at the hands of Wake Forest and Maryland earlier this season.

Tech's last game was the marquee effort of senior Zach Peacock. The guy is playing ball like a champ. Peacock is leading the team with a 67.2% shooting percentage yet doesn't start. I think Hewitt will be hard pressed not to start Peacock if we don't see more efficiency from our current group of starters.

Peacock should have a field day against a rather porous Rams defense. Last week's contest saw the Rams get the proverbial shaft as Maryland made 12 of 18 from behind the arc. On the season they're only allowing 31% shooting from long range but against Wake and MD the two teams made 51% of their three point shots.

Tech needs to really work on starting strong and finishing strong. If there's one complaint everyone's had this season, particularly in the losses, it's that Tech hasn't played consistently the entire game. We're a streaky team with streaky habits and streaky ways. Let's blow out the Rams and call it a day.
