Party like it's 1917, WFU Open Thread

Wake_medium

The 1917 Jackets scored 491 points in 9 games (54 PPG). We've scored 317 in 9 games. We can catch up to the 1917 scoring/game record if we score 112 points per game in our final three games. Saturday thoughts are welcome.

What the F

What in the world is going on? I won’t be able to watch the game until I get off work—what are we doing to suck?

Last week I posted a link to a New York Times article about that 1917 team, in case you missed it.

I’ve got to check that one out.

Give a heart attack. What a close game! Johnson’s got Kong size balls.

Just in time

Got home from work with a minute left in the game—agree on the Kong size balls—that propels him into the same category as Chuck Norris and maybe Calvin Johnson

I love Paul Johnson

Big balls to go for it on 4th and 1 with the game on the line. But it worked so he’s a genius!

The defense bailed us out at the end of regulation, stopping Wake from a game winning FG try. What a nail-biter

Duke's Rushing Defense

Anyone have any statistics as to how Duke does against the rush? Also—any thoughts as to how we’ll fare if we play clemson again in the acccg?

will get back to "work"

on Monday…

Personally, I think a solid defensive effort will win the game for us. Our defense has something prove and I think it’ll show in Durham.

Duke's defense

Duke is giving up 6.7 ypp and 184 ypg through the air and are allowing 3.82 ypp and 139.22 ypg on the ground. GT is averaging 10.9 ypp & 127.8 ypg through the air and are rushing for 5.4 ypp & 314.9 ypg.

In the UNC game Duke had the following performance:
Offensive: Passing – 3.2ypp/113yards Rushing – 0.63/12yards
Defensive: Passing – 4.3ypp/119yards Rushing – 3.76ypp/192yards

I think we should be able to run over them and I’m willing to bet that we will be able to get plenty of pressure on Lewis to stifle that air attack of his.
