I'm assuming most people

are at church or enjoying time with their families at the moment. I’d expect more thoughts later today from Tech fan base. Also, your handle is ironic because the most recent SAT numbers would suggest otherwise:

Tech average SAT for incoming freshmen was still 100 points higher than UGA’s.

This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedevere. Explain again how sheep's bladders may be employed to prevent earthquakes.

just like in The Rock...

Losers whine about how they did their best. Winners win conference championships. This is UGA’s season highlight. This is a bump in the road for GT. If you catch flack with UGA friends, family, or co-workers, hold your heads high. Don’t let them get to you. GO JACKETS.

Analogy

Isn’t this kinda like what they say winning the special olympics is like? Those retards from the poultry science school will still be playing in boise or in the eaglebank.com bowl. My favorite part of the night? I was sitting next to two uga fans—one had on a ‘Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets’ black sweatshirt, I guess he had to buy it b/c he was cold or just a puss and didn’t want to get heckled (I’m leaning towards the 2nd one)—I mouthed off to them all night and they took it in front of their girlfriends.

His buddy? He had on a sweatshirt with an Arby’s logo—that went well with his dress shirt and khakis…so I’m thinking he may actually be a manager—which is a little above handing out the fries. So—no matter what—UGA may have won, but nice to know I could have gone to school in Athens to become an arby’s manager.

So we're back to that?

Good to know how easily many of you can revert to your old ways: losing to UGA and making tiresome “insults” about a University education. Watching the transformation back to your normal state is intensely satisfying. Thanks for the boost to what was already a great weekend.

by NCT on Nov 29, 2009 3:21 PM EST up reply actions

You know what else is intensely satisfying? Knowing that my college education got me more than a job at Arby’s. That is priceless actually. And how about the UGAy player with a piece of painted turf in his mouth? That about sums it all up—please refer back to my special olympics comment. UGAy fans do nothing but put down the Institute regardless of what time of year it is—what I love is that 99% of UGAy fans never went to school there.

The GTech fans at lease clapped and cheered for the uga defensive tackle that went down—the two homo UGAy fans next to me didn’t do either for any of our players that went down—completely classless—I may as well communicate with their fans in a way they will understand.

by gte071u on Nov 29, 2009 4:03 PM EST up reply actions

Um, my college education got me more than a job at Arby’s, too. So what? As for Boling (I believe it was) with turf in his mouth, I believe that was in direct response to the charming mercenaries on your team (who refer to your “Institute” as their “University”) holding sticks from the Hedges in their mouths last year. Players have passion — both sides. You’re really reaching there.

Congratulations on sitting next to two a-holes. And for being one yourself.

@NCT

I don’t know if you noticed but GT has a shot at a BCS bid. You guys are sitting at home this weekend. Enjoy the week off before bowl season.

We are sad that we lost to y’all but don’t think because you won a game makes you or your team that much greater in the public eye. GT only dropped four or five spots in the polls. You guys… still unranked. Weird. I’m proud of your guys for getting up for ONE GAME all season. We got up for every game but two, hence our two programs’ stark divergence of paths after Saturday’s meeting. Enjoy your 2009 Garbage Bowl bid.

This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedevere. Explain again how sheep's bladders may be employed to prevent earthquakes.

by BirdGT on Nov 29, 2009 4:42 PM EST up reply actions

Much better

I didn’t come to this site to beat my chest about the game. I commented specifically on the silly “Arby’s manager” crap and how comments like that make the win a little more enjoyable (amusing also that someone who throws around “UGay” and “homos” wants to judge “class”).

In any event, your fellow Tech fans could take lessons from you about how to interact with a rival’s fan under these circumstances: again, well done.

And for what it’s worth, I’ll be as excited as possible about UGA’s appearance in a junk bowl game. We’ve had a terrible season — much worse than Tech’s stellar season, of which you should all be proud. But 7-5 and a crappy bowl is what I’ve got, so there’s little sense in crying over it. Y’all know what that’s like; we’ve all been there.

OK—so congratulations on being a fluffer. And—b/c I know you have a hard time reading like most UGAy fans—that was Ben Jones who will

I thought you guys were supposed to know how to use computers. Oh, well. I guess not all stereotypes are true, are they?

With the way Jones and the rest of the OL were gobbling up Tech’s defense last night, you’re lucky it was turf and not one of the wreck’s fenders in his mouth.

And seriously — take a cue from BirdGT.

by NCT on Nov 29, 2009 7:10 PM EST up reply actions

You’re probably right—I’m amazed they didn’t try to eat the car—it’s equally amazing they’re smart enough to get from the dorm to the outhouse whenever they have to take a dump. I imagine the conversation goes something like this: “Boy—I sure do wish they would put an uppity box in this here building so I wouldn’t have to walk all the way down these here steps to take ugga out to poopie”

I guess I was right about being a fluffer…

Speaking of the Special Olympics

What is the attendance record for a Special Olympics championship event? Do you guys think you can break it in Tampa this Saturday night? I still have fond memories of paying $100 under face for a club seat to the VT/BC ACC title game two years ago. I’d love to be a tarp manufacturer in the state of Florida this week.

I don’t agree with some of the play calling at the end of the game—I mean we couldn’t stop the run, which was 90% of the reason we lost—-but in the final minutes, we hung our fate on the pass, when we still had a timeout and more than a minute in the game. We got away from our bread and butter—should have at least tried an option or a pitch to try to get a few more yards.

by gte071u on Nov 29, 2009 1:30 PM EST reply actions

we went for the kill

and that’s what we’ve done all year. Why change our personality against georgie? plus, we’d already wasted about 2 minutes just in getting the first ten yards to start that same drive. The play to hill was very close and the fourth down play was perfectly drawn, it just didnt fall our way.
I don’t even want to talk about our defense, though.

by csulima on Nov 29, 2009 4:57 PM EST up reply actions

The thing I'm most disappointed in...

is our defense. Our offense played fairly well all game, except with Jaybo, and except that Nesbitt didn’t quite look himself in the second half. I have no problem with the 4 passes called in a row. No one would be complaining about them if they had worked.

But our defense was non-existent. Every play was King or Ealey up the middle. I was in the south endzone and I saw that Cox really is a horrible quarterback: every single play he just stares at the person he’s giving the ball to. But yesterday, our secondary was just as horrible and didn’t catch on at all.

and another thing...

This is loss is bitter, bitter, bitter, with possibly a little taste of sweet. I mean minuscule taste of sweet. like one grain of sugar in the entire ocean….. Now I have extreme disdain for the University ( for you uga grads, disdain means intense hatred), so i hate losing to georgia. In any sport whether its football, baseball, basketball, whatever. Hate it. So what do i mean by there is some slight, slight good thing out of this loss. It shows that CPJ now fully understands this rivalry and its intensity. Because , granted he got a taste of it when he was at GSU and last year, but a person can’t fully understand this rivalry without a loss. This also shows that Tech is not there yet. To me, i hate the loss, but it’ll put a fire under CPJ, the coaches, and the players to rise up and achieve the level of play that seems to be evident in Tech’s future. Gotta remember its only been two years! TWO YEARS! just wait……. I hate losing. Hate losing to georgia… but a 10-2 , possibly a 12-2 season, which includes a ACC title and a BCS bowl win, is hundred times better than a 7-5 season and a horrible bowl bid….. Give CPJ sometime….. Through seven years of Gailey’s blah, blah, blah… we suffered everything from 30 point losses to seven point losses… in CPJ’s two years avg difference between both games was 4.5 points. sounds like a reverse in trend to me… give him time…..

I do believe the tide in the state of Georgia still is turning in our favor!

GO TECH!!!

by The_GT_LineageX11 on Nov 29, 2009 5:47 PM EST reply actions

If you take the avg signed difference, it’s 1.5 in Georgie’s favor, since we won by 3 last year and we ‘won’ by -6 this year. [(3-6)/2 = -1.5, but I probably don’t have to explain this here]

I think that one more single grain of sugar is that this will make Dwyer, Morgan Burnett, and especially Bay Bay more likely to come back. If we had routed Georgia, the juniors could say they’re happy with two wins in a row, and decide their time at Tech is over and they’re ready for the NFL. Now, however, with a bitter defeat, especially bitter for Bay Bay, they’ll want to come back and prove that Tech really is ready for the big boys.

I still think that Derrick Morgan is just gone though.

by evanseeds on Nov 29, 2009 6:07 PM EST up reply actions

I love irony...

Such as when someone suggests an inferior vocabulary:

“for you uga grads, disdain means intense hatred”

…and then immediately follows it up with a blatant grammatical error such as a sentence fragment:

“In any sport whether its football, baseball, basketball, whatever.”

Well played, sir.

by FisheriesDawg on Nov 29, 2009 10:56 PM EST up reply actions

Try again.

A sentence fragment is, at worst, a style error, not a grammatical error. Considering that this is a football blog, the style is pretty damned informal, so fragments are A-OK here. And if you want to be asinine about it, ‘Well played, sir.’ is a sentence fragment, too.

Just because your third grade teacher said it was bad doesn’t mean it’s ungrammatical.

by evanseeds on Nov 29, 2009 11:11 PM EST up reply actions

Huh?

A sentence fragment isn’t a grammatical error? Asphincter says what?

Since you apparently don’t understand the English language very well, I’ll put it in a language that you might be able to comprehend better:

“110011111001010110001110010101100001010110”

Regardless, my point was that in Lineage’s post he tried to insult the intelligence of Georgia fans and then ironically followed it up with a sentence that wouldn’t be acceptable anywhere other than on a message board or blog comment. I realize all you guys have to fall back on now is that tired “your education is inferior argument” (which, by the way, I find completely laughable since I could have easily been accepted to Tech and chose to attend Georgia), but if you’re going to claim superior intelligence, don’t write something that immediately disproves such a notion.

by FisheriesDawg on Nov 29, 2009 11:53 PM EST up reply actions

I don’t blame you for not believing me. Skepticism is a sign of intelligence, which you may note, I’m NOT accusing you of not having. Maybe you’ll believe the experts though. Try here . Note where he says “Yes, I know, sentence fragments are not in general ungrammatical, but the label has picked up an association with incorrectness.” Now, honestly, I couldn’t find much more about sentence fragments, so I may be wrong, but the point stands that how one types on blog comments is a poor indicator of intelligence. Though I’ll agree that if one’s goal is to APPEAR intelligent, he should probably go with what people think, no matter what’s right (e.g. avoiding sentence-beginning conjunctions and sentence-ending prepositions, which I’m positive are completely grammatical) Also, you yourself say that his sentence wouldn’t be acceptable anywhere other than an internet comment, but….it IS an internet comment, so it’s entirely acceptable, right?

Plus, that binary is complete nonsense if you’re trying to encode text. A character is typically encoded into 8 bits using UTF-8 so that a phrase like “To Hell with Georgia!” would encode into:

01010100 01101111 00100000 01001000 01100101 01101100 01101100 00100000 01110111 01101001 01110100 01101000 00100000 01000111 01100101 01101111 01110010 01100111 01101001 01100001 00100001

The encoder I used gave “Ï•ŽV” as the translation for yours. That isn’t a language I speak at all.

It’s posts like this that amaze me that uga fans think calling us ‘nerds’ is an insult. I just spent twenty minutes writing a post debating the technicalities of grammar and the proper encoding of text into binary.

The good news NCT? You are probably making a KILLING in this economy. I looked up your job duties and what you make—you even get discounts at the supermarket! So now we know you can become either A) An arby’s manager or B) A Fluffer by attending UGAy.

"Compensation for fluffers varies by job and whether or not she / he is in the union. For example, a non-union fluffer working on a guy on girl shoot in the studio might make $500 for the shoot. While a union fluffer working a gangbang might make up to $1500 depending on the size of the gang and the duration of the banging. Union cards are also good for discounts at select local supermarkets."

You're laughable

As I said, the reversion to those types of insults is intensely satisfying, since once again, you can’t brag about the game. Enjoy your perverted fantasies about me and the loss to Georgia. I’m disengaging, because you’ve gotten more than a little bit creepy.

Still doesn’t change the fact that you’re a fag. Lata

by gte071u on Nov 30, 2009 2:33 AM EST up reply actions

Tell him!

“you’re a fag” is such a good insult. I am sure that the unbridled fury, the undiluted pathos of your anger – and the depth of the well from which your amazing retorts art drawn – will be certain to drive Mr. NCT away from this blog with his tail between his legs. In fact, I will be surprised if he doesn’t send you a private email apologizing for his shocking decision even to challenge such a wit to a duel. Who could stand before you’re prowess, displayed here in all of its majesty like Everest on a clear day? You are, sir, clearly the better man. Bravo!

But it’s too bad that Tech lost. Because, if they had won, then nobody could mistake you for a sore loser desperately clinging to a narrative that has been exploded on the field of play or an unoriginal blabbermouth still trying to get past “my dad could beat up your dad.” I’m sure nobody will make that mistake – how could they? – but I fear what such a hypothetical person would think of you.

This about sums it up
Error: Malformed binary. Your binary code is must be divisible by 8.

Corey Zickefoose: I think they should still be able to play football, regardless. Tennessee is my place. You know, it's my football team.

Reporter: Even after they put a gun in your face, you say let them play football?

Corey Zickefoose: Yeah. It's Tennessee. That's the way it is sometimes.

A True Sign of Irrelevance

is when you lose a football game, the best come back is mocking the academics of the opposing school.

Another blogger said it best: “There is no team I want to beat worse than Florida. There is no team I want to lose to less than Tech.”

This is an important victory for the Bulldogs, not because we beat the Yellow Jackets, but because we didn’t lose to them.

Another sign of irrelevance is this post game analysis. After a Georgia win (or loss) you can read comments on UGA’s SB Nation counterpart www.dawgsports.com and the comment section, even today, is being critical of our victory. You can imagine how critical it is after a loss.

You get beat, no , you get dominated in the trenches. Your defense was pathetic. Yet, you do have a very good team and a lot of heart. Nesbitt was able to lead you back and give you a chance to win. Some of the worse play calling I have ever seen takes place. There was still plenty of time left on the clock, some time outs, and were liable to break a big play (as you have done all night). Why throw it 4 consecutive times?

Why not question this decision? Because GT fans have such an inferiority complex, they must continue to talk smack after a loss about the team that whipped them. Mark Richt is one the top coaches in the country and is not above scathing criticism. Paul Johnson should not be either.

Also, don’t book your trip to Miami just yet. Clemson has something to prove as much as you do.

bdawg

you said it right. I don’t understand the playcalling at the end. Dance w/ the one who brought ya right? Yes, we had a chance to win it at the end, and everybody knows we got dominated up front.

As a side note, it annoys me to no end when we (Tech fans) but really all losing fans have a comback of “I’m still smarter than you” or “at least our mascot doesn’t die”. While it may be true, it’s not a comeback. You have to take the loss as it is, a loss. And it sucks.

The college football season is so fragile. It's like a glass ball being pushed around from stadium to stadium by a rhinoceros.
