USC, MIAMI, and LSU in the running for BCS spots with 3 losses?

Help me understand the latest barf from the LORDS OF THE BCS.

USC (3 losses), Miami (3 losses), and LSU (3 losses) are still in the running for spots in BCS games!  I know that they have all been there before, are major programs, big fan followings, play in rough conferences, etc.

The Jackets get an automatic bid when they win in Tampa.  If we lose (won't happen, I'm just speculating) do we still get a BCS bid with 2 losses on the season?

We will have played one additional game (beyond the three teams named above), in fact a CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, and may be rewarded with a trip to the Chick-fil-A, or Gator Bowls.  We would have ONE FEWER LOSS with one additional game played than the three above who never made it to a CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.

Maybe I'm jumping the gun on all of this, but some Bloggers are putting us in Jacksonville or Atlanta with Clemson going to Miami.

I've always been against a playoff system, but I'm beginning to come around to CPJ's matter of fact assessment that a playoff has got to be better than this (predetermined before the season) beauty pageant.

WHAT'S THE GOOD WORD?

a lot of people

subscribe the the theory that beating someone is harder the second time. I think GT is a lot better than they were at the start of the season while Clemson is about the same (don’t tell Clemson fans that). We’ll see Clemson’s poor offensive coaching on Saturday against the Coots, trust me.

I think uga will be a much tougher game for us and Clemson, while not a walk in the park, will be easier than most think.

This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedevere. Explain again how sheep's bladders may be employed to prevent earthquakes.

Fluff

This is just the BCS making an announcement to generate an AP report. Yes, these teams are “in the running”, but they’re three of twenty teams when only ten can make it. LSU won’t get in because Florida and Alabama are going to the MNC and the Sugar Bowl. It’s just fluff; no need to get excited.

The Jackets just needs to take care of business and then the only thing that matters is who we get in the Orange Bowl.
