121 years ago - Georgia Tech opened its doors to students.
93 years ago - Georgia Tech defeats Cumberland College 222-0.
25 years ago - I was born.
Concerning football, Georgia Tech is 12-3 all-time on October 7th with wins over Maryland (2006/1989), Duke (1995), South Carolina (1978), Clemson (1972/1967), Florida (1950), North Carolina (1944), Davidson (1922), Cumberland (1916), Samford (1911), and North Georgia (1905). We haven't lost on October 7th since 1961.
