Some Thursday Open Thread-ness
Our contact hasn't gotten back to us quite yet in regards to a Vanderbilt Guest Blogger. So let's try something:
What is on your mind about Georgia Tech Athletics? Basketball is upcoming, baseball unveiled its schedule yesterday. Anything about the Institute? The Alumni Association is now seemingly trying to keep people from putting their majors on their class rings. You can now only put "BS" or "MS", etc. ANYTHING GOES IN THE OPEN THREAD.

I'd propose
A conversation about Paul Hewitt being gone after this year.

I'd really like to hear more about the basketball program
It seems as though things have been awful quiet with them lately. Other than that, you guys could always post more on womens volleyball. How is little Meyer doing?

My roomate yelled out as I was walking out the door something about a preseason ranking of 20.

Concerning VBall
That is Dane/Winfield’s gig. They still live within close proximity to campus.
BBall action will start up soon. I kinda put Bball linkage on the fanposts ‘cause I don’t wanna be like Tarheel or Jayhawk fans that totally ignore football once basketball starts.
I'm about to write you a reality check. Or would you prefer the cold, hard cash of truth?
I just choose to
totally ignore basketball year round.
At least while Hewitt is still here.

Ahh, don't be a bad sport
Plus, this year should be much more entertaining than the last few. What else are you going to do during football off-season? You might as well watch.

Thankfully
I’m in ACC basketball country so GT games are almost always on local tv. Clemson’s recent “success” has really got the Tiggers in an uproar about putting games on tv as well (adding two games to television that I wouldn’t have seen somewhere else in the country).

Its all about potential man!

young alum season tix discount
If season tix were about $100 cheaper, I’d go for it. But I guess as long as they are packing out the stadium every week…oh wait…
got a call from Tix Office about bball season tix
asked if I was interested, said I would if I lived nearby. May make Mercer game this year for my annual home game.
I think bball will do good. Media does, too.
Check out link about preseason ACC bball hype: http://www.washingtontimes.com/weblogs/d1scourse/2009/oct/27/the-medias-record-in-acc-hoops/#at Pretty disparaging about GT ballers.

BURN! Haha. Don’t even want to look at seats that don’t require TECH fund giving?

Ya know
The wife and I love going to the Thriller Dome, and I would be all over season tix if I lived up there, but I really don’t want to have to pay five times the face value for tickets, even if I am donating it to the TECH fund. And if they push the donation amounts to the extremes that I hear other places force upon their season ticket holders, you can count me out real quick-like.

I really never understand how they say games are “sold out” for basketball

all the tickets were sold
Doesn’t mean they were all used.

UNC over VT
I wonder if Beamer will complain about UNC’s blocking after last night’s game? I can’t wait to hear his excuse.
